This week I started decorating for Christmas and this is what I’ve got so far. From what I have seen in stores and on the home tour I went on, a combination of blue, green and silver is not in, but oh well!  It’s what I already had so I continued my existing colour scheme with a few inexpensive additions.  I bought some of the new decorations from the local flower shop but the others, including the sparkly grapevine balls and reindeer, are just from the dollar stores.  

My favourite decorations so far are the sparkly grapevine balls above the sink.  I got them in a few different sizes and colours and hung them at different heights with fishing wire from the light fixture. They really catch the light in the evening and add some festiveness without full-out garland etc. above the cabinets.  I am happy with the tree other than that I am still looking for some lime green balls to add.  I also will probably add something more to the dining room… maybe something on our special space-age light fixture(which isn’t exactly what I would have chosen but we are living with it for now). 

Anyway, now that I’ve started gearing up for the Christmas season, a little snow might not be all that disappointing.  But I’m okay if it doesn’t either!
